The popular undisputed singer Theophilous Tagoe
a.k.a Castro is alive and chilling in the West side with a new ‘sakura’ hair
cut at Anaji a suburb of Takoradi in the Western Region.
Speculation moving around in the twin-city
(Sekondi-Takoradi) is that the “under fire” man is blazing alive with joy and
much enthusiasm as he has re-branded himself to serve his sympathetic fans.
Castro is said to have been missing with a female
friend Janet Bandu in the waters of Ada on July 6th 2014 during a
Jet Ski ride at Aqua safari.
Attempt to rescue them had proven futile. Some
believe he is dead, others believe he has been kidnapped, others also believe
he is in the coffer’s of the sea deity.
However, the father John Eshun and the wife Mrs.
Dorothy Tagoe strongly believe the “seihor” singer is alive and debunked the
idea of the popular mischievous death on the lips of some Ghanaians.
Fans of Sekondi-Takoradi are now certain that their
star is still alive and five to six month to come he would raid the Vodafone
Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) grounds and claim his awards.
The fans are optimistic that Castro would win from
most of the music categories (the life achievement award, best collaboration of
the year, the most popular song of the year, the artist of the year etc).
These optimistic fans are much passionate, emotional
and sensitive about the life achievement award they are aiming for the western
celebrity in the year 2015 VGMA, to them Castro had worked hard and has notable
songs that even got some pastors danced to his tunes.
Although this recent disappearance of Castro could
make the organizers and many music lovers select Tagoe as the next successor to
Ebo Taylor (2014 VGMA life Achievement Award winner) but to them their icon
deserves it and is not due to an act of sympathy, the fans stressed.
Moreover, these fans urge the organizers of the VGMA
to continue giving the life achievement awards to people who are alive and
could see the reward of their achievement rather than creating a sorrowful
atmosphere of mourning before giving the award.
